We may be well-known for working with houses, but our building expertise also extends to apartments. So, we’re putting the spotlight on an exciting apartment project in the beachside ‘burb of Bronte, in Sydney’s east.
Located on Bronte Road, this stunning two-bedroom art deco apartment boasts lots of beautiful original features – not least the decorative plaster mouldings and cornices that adorn the high ceilings.
But we also recognise that certain elements need to be updated in order to make the apartment more liveable by contemporary standards. The main goal of this renovation is to modernise the interiors while paying homage to the art deco period of the building.
Over the next nine or so months (a timeline that includes both planning and the actual build), we’re undertaking a $200,000 cosmetic renovation to make this property something truly spectacular.
As part of the project, we’ll capitalise on the abundance of natural light to create a bright and breathable space with an open-plan design. We’ll also introduce a new study and kitchen with a combined butlers/laundry.
However, in keeping with the typical way we approach older homes, we’ll work to retain the apartment’s original details to ensure we can create a home that’s at once spacious and functional, yet homely and full of character.
